This is the best time to visit the Limousin if you are a lover of wildflowers. My favourite is the little dog's tooth violet (above). It is the only naturally occurring species of Erythronium in Europe.
This is an area where people have got more and more scarce and forest and scrub have taken over. The land is hard to work and doesn't give up much. Industry is noticeable by it's absence. Rain is plentiful, pollution absent and boots don't disturb the quiet chemin often.
